This website aims to provide answers to any questions you may have about the school and to give you some insight into its organisation. Parents considering sending their children to the school are warmly invited to contact me to arrange a suitable time to visit the school.

The school was designed by Daniel Penning, Surveyor, of Eye in Suffolk and originally opened in 1858 for the education only of the labouring, manufacturing and other poorer classes in the Parishes of East and West Rudham (from the original Trust Deed) and subsequently extended.

Major modifications and modernisation were undertaken in 1995-96 and an extension to the Dining Room to form a school Hall was completed in Spring 2004. In August 2006, an extension to the office created a staff room and separate offices for the Headteacher and Secretary. The school changed its name from East & West Rudham Voluntary Controlled Primary School to Rudham Church of England Primary School in 2004.

Most of the old log books are still kept in school and may be referred to by any interested party. In September 2006 the school became a Partnership school with Weasenham Church Of England Primary School (also designed by Daniel Penning) with Mrs Allen serving as the Executive Headteacher across both schools

In June 2016 we joined the Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust (DNEAT) and became Rudham Church of England Primary Academy.

In September 2020 the existing Federation between Rudham and Weasenham was expanded with the addition of a third academy, Brisley. The newly formed Federation became known as Hope Federation of Church of England Primary Academies.

There are currently 74 children on roll (September 2023). The youngest children in Foundation Stage are currently taught by Miss Lavender in Tawny Owls Class. The Year 1 and 2 children are taught by Mrs Owen and Mrs Haddon in Barn Owls Class. Year 3 & 4 are taught by Mr Parr in Snowy Owls Class with children in Year 5 & 6 taught by Mr Chapman in Eagle Owls Class.

At 11+ children generally transfer to Fakenham Academy Norfolk or Litcham High School, some children also move further afield.
The school was inspected by OFSTED in March 2019.
